recovery family mentor

[ exclusive offering ]
A collaborative curriculum between Recovery All and Recovery Institute of Boca Raton

recovery family mentor training

EXCLUSIVE OFFERING
COLLABORATIVE CURRICULUM BETWEEN RECOVERY ALL, INC. and RECOVERY INSTITUTE OF BOCA RATON
While Recovery Coaches might have completed some essential training to work with individuals in recovery, most lack the necessary professional education and training to effectively foster recovery for both an individual and their family. Family support is a vital element for anyone working with individuals in the recovery. Individuals in recovery must traverse the deep divides addiction creates within the family.

As it is with the destruction addiction creates, so it goes with the healing recovery brings - lives are forever changed. This goes for both the individual and the family. Recovery Coaches provide their clients with assistance and support as they navigate a new world where they discover and apply the most effective avenues which restore trust, mend broken homes, nourish healthy boundaries, and fosters an environment conducive to wellbeing and meaningful experiences - as a family, together, with one another, and not alone.

The Recovery Family Mentor training is
purposefully designed to be an interactive format which covers sensitive topics that every family in recovery must understand and address. The content was developed by Dr. Richard Froilán-Dávila in collaboration with Dr. Michal Mendal Galer; both carrier professional educators with nearly a century of combined experience in the addiction recovery field.
In this intensive 15-hour, 2-day course participants with explore:
  • Common roles played by family members that contribute to the problems of addiction.
  • How family members can contribute to the success of a loved one’s struggle with addiction.
  • What recovery is - and is not.
  • How our perception of recovery affect outcomes.
  • The role of a Recovery Family Mentor.
  • Pitfalls to avoid in your role as a Recovery Family Mentor.
  • How to set realistic goals for success as a Recovery Family Mentor.
  • Understanding family systems and family dysfunction.
  • How to break the patterns of family dysfunction.
  • Family “sculpting” and the role of family therapy.
  • Crisis intervention - how it works and when it is appropriate.
  • The power of language and labels.
  • Family wellness - how to live your life, not your story.
